Tow Hook Options
Has anyone found a quality, folding tow hook alternative to the premium ones like Rennline, Raceseng, and Brey Krause offer? If I have to spend $125-$200 I will, but are there any quality functional options you all have found or all all the cheaper (read $20-$30) eBay/Amazon/JDM options just cheap aluminum junk that will snap if put under stress?

The cheap tow hooks will snap, yes. I have seen dozens snapped.

I use the one that came with the car. Took the one from the Boxster and use it for the rear. Can’t imagine any of the aftermarket ones being stronger.

I got a towhook out of a BMW SUV.
It’s the same thread/pitch as a Porsche hook but much longer. (BMW cars are different)
I’ve painted it red on the end, and was able to add a GoPro Mount.
My plan is to use it on the front.
For the rear, I‘ve drilled a hole in the black plastic license plate holder.
2 license plate screws removed and the plate comes off and I can install the original Porsche tow hook in back.

BMW makes the best towhooks.
They have to, they’re going to be used more than any other manufacturer!

My BMW 135i had to be towed home broken way too many times in the 3 years I owned it.
I bought a second towhook so I could keep the original in the tool kit, and have another in the glovebox ready to install.
I kept the spare one and it’s in my towhook collection.
The 135i was lots of fun, but plagued by electrical issues.
