I do miss the extra storage but not enough to go back.

Before I went with the Continental head unit I was using a $10.00 Bluetooth adapter that plugged into CD changer plug. Seemed to work fine.

Here are the instructions to enable the Aux function.

We have MANY customers of the BTR-3 kit. Far better than an FM transmitter.

Did it w/ my 986; did it w/ my 996. Would do it again. Having decent knee room is WAY better than having a stupid plastic cubby or a CD/cassette organizer.

For the 996, I pulled my factory head unit and replaced it with a JVC media-less (i.e. no CD/dvd/cassette) head unit. No wiring changes were necessary, it has integrated bluetooth, and it cost me a whopping $80 from Crutchfield (including the wiring harness). Totally reversible if you decide to go back to stock.

My concern is I have the CDR23 which mentions on the website doesn’t have stereo input. And it would be the BTR-3 from my understanding.

I have the CDR23 and used this kit:
Amazon.com: iSimple Hands-Free Calling and Music Streaming Kit with Control Button for Smartphones - Frustration-Free Packaging - Black : Electronics Amazon.com: iSimple Hands-Free Calling and Music Streaming Kit with Control Button for Smartphones - Frustration-Free Packaging - Black : Electronics

It is a FM transmitter - but it plugs in directly to the antenna port. I find the sound quality to be great.

great catch Coussa, it is the BTR-3. Edited my post. We’ve had reports of enabling the CDR-23 without CD Changer, but not straight forward…

That’s because voting is for those who have installed a center console delete.

I didn’t vote because the 996 interior looks better with the center console

How tall are you guys that liked the delete? I’m 6’0” and have never felt cramped for leg room in my 996.

I have not done the delete and enjoy the cubby spot. It holds my sunglasses perfectly!

With shoes on about 6'6"

Most cars are designed for those of your height. Consider yourself lucky in that regard!

I love the delete in my car but could sometimes use the storage. If you need storage don't do it. I think they both look fine.

Yeah, that's the same for me. I'm 6'0, and don't find that it interferes at all with my motion, I don't come close to touching it with my leg, so I've not even considered the delete. I also like the storage in case I need to drop my phone or my glasses in there. I think it looks fine, too, it's a good divider between the two sides of the car, and currently I have a Rennline phone mount attached to it, so I find it useful that way, too. I didn't vote in the poll, either, as there's no suitable option, but I guess that's not what the poll is for. Looks like you get my 2c anyway, .

I'm about 6'0 and never found the center console to be cramping me, however the first left turn I took after removing it showed how much I had been bracing against it. I think the pro for doing the removal is that its not possible from the 997 on, so it gives it some unique flair, however sacrificing the upper din cup holders to move the AC and other lack of storage is a sticking point.
