Well the mods have decided to delete the most fun post in the last couple days even though it didnt really break any of the rules...i mean it was silly and dramatic but maybe it should just have been in the off-topic thread and it would have been fine?

Also, u will be back. There is no way to stay away from these cars

Do they delete them for swear words? Is that why?

Or disagreeing with Sponsor Members?

Hard to tell. Although i would guess the second because i put swear words in all the time. I can screen shot that entire thread and i reread it again and there is no mention of any vendor in it as of last nights posts. They also pulled his permissions without explainations too. No notice or email explaining the violation. Seems fishy but im sure some r happy.

Agreed! Sorry to see you go. But De Jeepers comment is correct, you'll be back. It will be an impulse buy, the 996 on the indy's corner looking sad because no one loves it... The one thing I am glad about is there is one less 996 in the forum that is shinier than mine! Congratulations on the sale.

Well this been brewing nice a for few years.

To be honest it was one more peg in the hole to get me out of a 996.

This past sponsor with more arrogance than I have seen displayed day after day with no let up.
I frequently questioned to myself how he got any of his work done saving the US Society and every m96 /m97 on the planet

Of course after you jumped through hoops, paid his price, waited his time and the after a year you would get product.

Well I taught a lot of Small businesses to write business plans.

I must have been on vacation that week

Now it looks like Charles has stepped away and an unnamed person has taken over. This new person has an incredible use of about 900 English words he scrambles the without question regeritaes them time after time

I asked two direct questions that followed praise for his collection of words.
He has decided to brush over those two questions.

That's ok, I will mentally a group of select a protected class for him to relate with, and proof, that he will be.

They sent me a private message not to be posting no more drinking and driving high speed stuff, they didn’t ban me. Feel for you Dave, you don’t know what you have until you loose it. I definitely missed my 04 r32 and the M635CSI.

C’mon man. You gonna let a moderator hold u back! U didn’t make all that money to be controlled. Just the opposite, right? (Rhetorical)

Nope. You need an outlet to make yourself feel relevant…..

Best of luck Dave, sorry to see you go.
Friends, if I ever post a thread like this, send a "Swat Team" over and take me out!

Hey Bill

Good to hear from you.

Geez over the years we seen some pretty interesting threads on here.

We probably both learned a lot and laughed a lot, and were tempted into spending money, that we might not have, at least I have. (ie, $100 (996 Umbrella)

Thanks again for some the items you purchased.

We could have been farther part geographically , lol about 5000 miles

I will be looking for an awesome video of your build when it is done.

Best wishes for you and your loved ones

David

I was curious about the new developments and postings about the whole FSI Ln deal so I called sales at LN. There are no engines for sale, the staff hasn’t been told anything about the future. Thru the grapevine I kept asking questions and this maybe another twist in the story, I was told that the rumor was that there were not going to be direct engine sales, sales would be done by the certified installers and the certified installers where responsible for setting prices. So here is what I’m thinking, they are going to make money establishing and running a training and certification program with these installers. Then it’ll be Wild West because you maybe in NY but you maybe better off sending your car to Tennessee for engine installation, lower taxes. Jake told me from the very beginning that he was getting quite a bit of business from California because since the car is shipped to Cali no taxes have to be charged, that’s a conversation that took place about a year and a half ago. Since I can honestly screw around and drink have fun every day, I will be contacting every single retailer installer. Then I would get quotes and then I would be playing them against each other to see who would be giving me my best price, nothing different than buying the same car negotiating with 5 dealerships at the same time. This is going to get interesting.

BEST KIND OF UPDATE

From new owner

Yes, I finally got it out yesterday for a real drive of it.

Went with a group of other Porsche folks for a run about 150 miles further down South.

Not being used to a rear engine for a long time I initially found it extremely loud but I quickly adjusted to such as I am mostly deaf any way.

It is a terrific handling car, very well balanced.

We were on the Palm Beach race course which I have often driven in competition and it took to cures and cornering as though it was glued to them.

I did find out the front tires were in horrible condition as the vibration was severe at a higher speed of 135-45.

But, of course we had discussed the history of these tires so no surprise. Upon my arrival back into my town I drove directly to my tire dealer.

I certainly miss the car...

And yes, I miss this forum.....

David
