Default Best aftermarket catalytic converter

What would you say is a good aftermarket catalytic converter?

I was replacing the muffler delete on my car with an oem exhaust I bought from another member and it looks like 1 of the cats is bad. Looking for some good alternatives.

Thanks in advance

So you haven’t had any luck since last month? Have you searched recent cat threads here? Lots of posts from last two years about many aftermarket options from FVD, Cargraphics, Top Gear, Soul, Fabspeed, etc. Defining “best” option depends on if you’re targeting price point, bling factor, longevity, stock guts or 200 cell.

Gotcha, i could definitely have added a better description. I'm only looking to replace the passenger side cat. Budget minded, but ultimately need it to last.

I tried searching through the threads but got a bunch of unrelated topics. I was hoping someone can point me in the right direction while I keep doing research, currently got the car at the shop misfiring on bank 2 because of the new/used cat I had installed.

Did you try extenders for the sensors?

Have you confirmed the O2 sensors are good? Do you need C.A.R.B. compliance? Are you looking for the best or are you budget minded?

If you are only looking to replace one I think OEM is the only answer, new or used. If you're open to replacing both Top Gear is a popular budget choice. Top Gear 200 cell sport cats

Beyond that you're looking at $2k plus. Good luck.

Rad,

Did a quick google search and found this article. It will give you an understanding on what 02 sensor spacers are and what they do.

Don't know what the issue is with your cat, but these may be of help. Most companies that sell exhaust systems have them. just about everyone running an after market cat system use them.

Gert, very interesting. 3 questions.

1. We ship you a cat and you replace the internals with a 200 cell HJS and ship the cat we sent to you back to us?

2. Is this program only available for oe cats or can you also do it with aftermarket cats?

3. What's it cost and how long of a turnaround?

Thanks

The easiest is when we can modify your own cats. That way you can also leave the lambda sensors in place.
We have a service where we have FedEx to pick up the parcel, we upgrade the cats to 200 cell and we ship them back.
It takes about -8 to 10 days before you have the cats back.
Prices go from 1100 to 1400 euro all in , depending on the type of cat (early –later style)

We can only do this for the original Porsche cats, no aftermarket.
