How do the mice keep getting in?
I covered the cabin filter in chicken wire and that kept the nests out. I keep finding acorns inside the car and finally put a snap trap on the floor. Caught three so far. How the hell do they keep getting in? I’m at a compete loss.

Check all the rubber grommet wire pass throughs. If any are missing, a mouse can definitely get through the space around wire harnesses…

I have probably a dozen snap traps, each baited with a peanut, all around my garage every winter. I catch a half dozen or so when the weather turns cold. In the warm months, I get snakes in the garage, which take care of the mice.

Mice are coming into the garage under the door or almost any small opening. Your best chance at catching them is to place a yellow paddle trap without bait right up against any or all your walls as shown here closest to any doors. The mice want to stay along the edge and the paddle is wide enough so that any part of the mouse touching it can set it off. Don't use the traps with the little bait bar, there isn't enough surface area. I catch mice in these traps in my garage when the weather gets cold, and not one has made it into my cars. I use the same trap over and over again. Image below.

That’s exactly the trap I have in the car. I’m a little reluctant to set them in the garage since it seems a little unfair. There are always mice scurrying in my detached garage. Inside the car, sorry all bets are off. On the bright side, they seem to be one at a time. Haven’t needed to rebait it yet. PSA - nutella works great. Second choice is the mushy stuff in a 3 musketeers bar. One candy bar lasts all season.

I use sonic repellant. Cheap and effective. Not sure where you live, but there's no way I would be able to kill all the rodents who want to live in my garage and chew my tasty wires. Best to keep them away.
