C4S Frunk amp install?

C4S Frunk amp install?
Hey all. I'm trying to work out where to position a 5 channel amp in the frunk of my C4S. It's too big to fit where the CD changer was, which is very annoying. So I'm left looking for alternatives. The top choice currently is vertically on the wall inside the frunk. With the fuel tank the other side of the wall, installation might be tricky so I'm thinking of carefully drilling the 4 mounting holes and then using rivnuts to give me a place to bolt the amp onto the wall. Could this work or will I create problems for myself by drilling through that wall? I don't really want to drop the fuel tank if I don't have to. Are there other options? Any thoughts are welcome.

I would definitely not advise drilling into the wall that surrounds the fuel tank housing. Normally, the factory amp is mounted on the side with the C4S. Can you not repurpose the mounts? Could you please share some pictures of your project? How do you plan to interconnect with the factory wiring? Harness?

I dont have a good pic of my car available but back in the early 2000's I had the amp installed in the bottom of the frunk. It was a large amp (probably 3" 'tall/thick' x 17" x 9") and powering the subwoofer built to place in that spot behind the rear seats and just a very "low visibility" install.
There was no drilling through the bodywork and since I was replacing the factory stereo it didnt have to interact with anything existing. Once you remove the carpet you should find some holes that will feed wiring through existing holes and you can mount the amp to some backer plates/board underneath the carpet and clamp it all together, it's not going anywhere. editing to add- the advantage of mounting it on the bottom of the frunk is that you're not fighting gravity and it's working with you to keep it in place, that said mine was a C2 and I'm not sure if C4 has the same amount of space.
I was still able to get suitcases and stuff in the frunk with no real loss of space.

That is definitely what I'm after. What amp is that, aside from being an Alpine?

My amp is mounted vertically and I have plenty of room to access the spare.

I put mine where my CD player was, found a nice amp, JL Audio, XD700/5, it's a small "smart" amp that monitors temperature, and if it is overloaded it lowers the power. If you listen to 1-2 songs loud, it's no big deal, it isn't really going to heat up.

Unfortunately not. There's the small space where the Bose amp goes and then the aircon canister and plumbing. I'll remove them again and take some pics at the weekend.

Update to this. I found the larger Bose amp. For reference in UK RHD cars it's in the wheel well. Good news is that this is probably the best location for the new amp. Bad news is as my new amp is wide/tall I'll have to cut the frunk base to do it. Before that I'll test the wiring connectors first to check that I've got

Find a set of used frunk liners and put your originals away. That way u can always go back to stock.
