Default Who has a high mileage 996?

I just hit the 60k mark and I wonder who else has a higher mileage 911. The car's been great thus far. I've only had it in the shop a few times for very minor repairs that were covered under warranty.

I change the oil every 10k miles with Mobil-1 0w-40 and this time I will not only change the oil but change out my spark plugs, air filter and drive belt. Plus I’ll probably go ahead and flush the brake fluid and coolant since it’s been 2 years since I last did those.

I can only hope my car is as reliable for the next 60k miles as it has been the 1st 60k miles.

my '00 996 had over 95k miles when i sold it last month. replaced the gearbox under warranty at 45k, other than that it was relatively faultless. i'm driving an '05 volvo s60 as stop-gap till the 997 arrives. compared to a volvo, the 996 is easiler to park, and is actually roomier with more storage compartments for day-to-day use--i miss her!

I know you said high mileage but what the hell, here's mine anyway: 15,500. Now that wife has a new job that requires commuting, my daily commuter now becomes the good ol'Eleven! Might even hit 25,500 by the time we close this year out!

I think your comparison to roominess is way off the mark. No way a '00 is roomier than an S60. You could park half the Porsche in the S60's trunk alone. I know because I have one of each...but no matter...let us know how you like the 997 when it comes in...I have my eye on one right now and I think I might take the plunge...good luck when you get her...

Just around the corner from 50k on my 99 C4. Never had any issues except for the darn RMS @ 42K.

No worries at all. The car never had any engine troubles, sans a bad alternator that was replaced when I had the car for 6 months.

I have 20,000 miles on my 2004... I'll run it until the engine falls out... then I'll drop some serious pony's in her!

the 996 has more head room, leg room, superior storage in the doors, consol and armrest. mcuh better outward visibility (especially backing up). yeah, the volvo has a better trunk, but it should! the s60 is great, goes pretty good w/ the low-pressure turbo--no complaints there--and its great value! book says 30 mpg on the hwy, have yet to reach it.
