Calling all DC metro area 996 owners.
I'm just trying to get a head count. I saw a few names here with DC in them, which I find funny since the last time I saw a 996 in DC was a yellow one just right when the 996 came out, and I have yet to see one 996 in DC since then.

My family is in McLean and I see them (996's) all the time. Not sure where you are looking but they are NOT in short supply.

Funny story, I actually saw another Rennlister on 123 just north of 7 (between the 2 Tyson Malls) when visiting my Dad last spring. PM'ed him to verify and sure enough it was. what a small world.

Hmmm, guess maybe it's because I'm on the MD side of things, and on that side they're all just a bunch of cheap rich people.

You say NC Summer 06...what part of NC? I'm in NC just 20 miles north of charlotte.

20 miles north of Charlotte? Like Concord area? I'll be in the Raleigh area.

So are you in MD or NC???

Not quite Concord area. I'm due North of Charlotte on 77 (Cornelius is I guess the closest big town). I'm not the Porsche owner, I'm the gearhead son who goes to Davidson College who's dad in Maryland owns a 996 (i.e. I'm from Maryland but go to college in NC). So to answer your first question, I'm about 20 miles west of Concord (Davidson is basically 20 miles from everything).

Ah, Davidson. I know it well. Had several friends I grew up with go to there. Great school!

I'm in Arlington.

Had a fun sighting yesterday on Great Falls Rd near Idlywood (stuck in traffic, naturally). A black 996 coming from the opposite direction... Immediately followed by a black 996 Turbo Driven by a hot girl... Husband and wife, maybe? I guess we know who wears the pants in that one

Do you guys want to do another Saturday brunch? I'm busy this Saturday, but maybe next?

Wow, someone who actually knows Davidson. Not only that, but you didn't even ask me "is that a community college?" You must be from one of the southeastern states.

I live in Reston. Drove my 996 in to DC today. Hate crossing that T.R. Bridge with it all torn up. Gravel every where, Steel plates, etc.

I'm from Fairax, VA and San Antonio, TX since I had the privledge of growing up in a divorced family since age 7. And my wife lived in Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Florida growing up. So, between my wife and I, I think we have the Red states covered

Spike,

There are so many Porsches in the DC Metro Area it is ridiculous. Not a day goes by where I don't see another Porsche. I see at least 3 Boxsters and 3 Cayennes everyday, a 996 at least every other day and a 993 or older 911 twice a week. The number of Cayman S sightings are on the rise too. Oh yeah, I've seen a couple of Carrera GTs too -- a yellow and a black one just driving in traffic.

Justin,

It is supposed to rain Saturday morning. Maybe Sunday would be better. BTW, I've also seen that hot lady in the Turbo driving around Tysons.

Dell,

That was me you saw in Tysons on your last visit.

Wasn't sure if you wanted me to put your name in the story. But it was very cool to see another Rennlister out on the road

Saw a pretty funky 911 last night on the Clara Barton. I'm color blind, but it looked like a combo of yellow and orange-he blinked twice so he's the real deal even if that wasn't a stock color.

HAHA! Justin, that was my mother and me. I remember passing you and I waved but it was a bit late. We were in the midst of swapping cars actually. I'll be sure to let her know she's still hot though. :-P

there are lots of 996s in the area and that includes MD. I see tons on the streets but sadly much fewer at the track. That's where you'll catch dear old mom and me most, although I'll be in my track car which is also a 996.

I see at least one 996 a day in downtown DC.
