Default Painting Calipers...taking a poll

I am thinking about painting my brake calipers. My first thought was guards red…very typical color and it would match the exterior. After some more thought, one of the things I like about the silver/black cars with red calipers is the way they stand out. So now I’m thinking about painting mine YELLOW. Will that look totally rice and or poser or will it stand out and look good? I saw a guards red 997 GT3 in the recent issue of Excellence that had the PCCB yellow brakes and it looked great. Thats what kind of gave me the idea...

So here are the choices:

Yellow

Red

Or stay w/ black…

Thanks

Mark

I have red ones on a black cab. I agree with Mark. They're meant to stand out. I vote Yellow.

Yellow = poser
Red = color-matched poser
Black = original, nice contrast

I prefer black, but you should paint them whatever color makes you happy and ignore the rest of us.

dont sweat it.....there are some people that think the "traditional" Porsche look is the only correct one....Just bring up 19" wheels on a 996...lol....I'd go for yellow....

I say paint them any color you like it is your car. If you like yellow, go for it. Go for hot day glow pink if you really want to stand out. lol hahahahaha.

You can order the calipers in black OR red so it is not poser. Yellow is indicative of the PCCB brakes which is why I imagine some would call it poser. FYI....the BoxsterS uses the 996 calipers and they are painted red. Makes no sense that Porsche would paint the calipers black on these fantastic brembo calipers that are traditionaly red. I saw so with what you like. I ordered the factory calipers in red on my 996C2CAB and they look fantastic against the arena red color.

I had mine painted seal grey to match the car. The front ones are now olive drab.

As others have suggested, do what YOU like. I personally like black. I sorta think that red and yellow are just a "hey look, aren't my brakes neat" kind of deal. Unless of course you have a real *** kicker (gt, gt2, gt3, turbo and others) Just my 2 cents...and nothing more.

I vote for keeping it real, if you do not upgrade the actual calipers, keep it black!
