Default Market Price of 2002 C4 Cabriolet

I feel a bit bad asking this frequently-discussed question, but I happened to be surfing the net recently and randomly decided to punch a 2002 C4 Cabriolet into eBay and Autotrader and was little surprised by what I found. I saw a significant number of cars there in the 56-59K range with anywhere from 19,000-45,000 miles. Frankly, I thought those prices were a bit high considering I paid in the 60K range for one more than a year ago. I wanted to check with the community here to see if these prices are actually close to reality in the marketplace. As you know, you can ask anything you want, but it doesn't mean that you can get that much for your car.

I'm thinking of moving to either a newer C4S Cabriolet or a 997 Cab of some sort if I can get a reasonable amount for my car. Here's the details.

2002 C4 Cab
Lapis Blue
Black Full Leather
about 32,000 miles
6-speed manual transmission
Bose Stereo/6 CD Changer
Factory Navigation/PCM with CD's for California and Mid-Atlantic
Factory Hardtop (purchased separately, shade of blue a bit off)
Heated Seats
Litronic headlamps
Porsche car cover
18" factory Sport Design wheels
Can negotiate on the child seat/airbag deactivation bar.
New rear tires (Bridgestone Potenza) put on 8/05 @ 26750 mi
New front tires (Bridgestone Potenza) put on 2/06 @ 29500 mi
Just changed oil with 9 qt Mobil 1 0w40
About to flush brakes, clutch with ATE Super Blue
About to change transmission fluid with Mobil 1 75w90
About to put in new fuel filter
About to put in new air filter
If the muffler for the C4S or 997 is different than for my C4, I'll have to let the Fabspeed mufflers go, otherwise I'll keep them.

Can anyone chime in a reasonable estimate on market price based on personal knowledge of recently actual transactions?

Thanks.

Last month, I bought a 2003 C2 Cab with about 28K miles, full leather, bunch of other options, etc ($91K original sticker) for $58.5 from a Porsche dealer. Car had a year of factory warranty left, and came with a CPO (so total warranty until summer 2009). Car in gorgeous shape (both mechanically and interior/exterior).

Really wanted to buy a CPO for the piece of mind, and the car was exactly what I had been looking for, for about 4-5 months. I have seen 2003 Cabs for around $55K, but not at a dealer.

As being sold from an individual, I would say $50-52K. From a dealer it would be about $4K more. I don't really see a point for you in upgrading to a 996 C4S cab. Given you already have an 02', you won't get better performance. It will be a lot of money for a styling change. In fact, you will get worse performance because the C4S as a wide-body is heavier. A 997 S cab would be a better option.

These numbers are (unfortunately) more in line with my expectations and experiences with other high-line automobiles. I usually expect to lose at least 5-6K/year on my cars. I was surprised when I saw numbers indicating that the value had only dropped about 2-3K.

I'm no ready to put as much money as is required for a 997 S Cab yet. So it looks like I'll be waiting for a few more years!

Thanks.

It's summer time, so I think prices are high and will drop later in the year.
