Cool New Porsche owner!!!

I just bought my first Porsche about 3 weeks ago...and I LOOOVE it! I got a 2002 Carrera out in Newport Beach. I live out in Palm Springs. I'll try and Post some better pictures soon! I'm looking forward to making lots of mods to the car over time! Ive previously owned a 2003 BMW M3, great car as well. Something about the Porsche though...cant put my finger on it. Love the Porsche. Can anyone suggestion on how I should go about finding a good Porsche mechanic out here in Palm Springs? I know word of mouth if probably the best way. But I just moved out here in Feb. Dont know anyone really. Atleast Porsche owners. Also, can anyone point me to some websites to where I can do some interior customization stuff and sites for rims? Been thinking of putting some aluminum on the interior to match the shifter and ebrake. Thanks guys!

Where are you at 996 MBA CFA? Its really not THAT far, it was a good drive though. But it was worth getting out of the heat! haha. Ive only lived out in Palm Springs since Feb. I have a friend who lives in Newport area so I stayed the weekend down there, did a drive down PCH down to Laguna Beach and all that. It was a nice little weekend get away/porsche purchase trip. haha.

I love the night time shot from the back ... The shape says it all. Now get rid of the "Phillips" sign.

Beautiful ride Congratulations

Thanks for the helpful links newport996! Can anyone suggest a website where I can get thicker porsche steering wheels? Maybe some with aluminum on them. I like the Porsche steering wheel in my car. Its the 3 spoke. But its kind of thin compared the my BMW M3 steering wheel. Having aluminum on it would look cool too I think.

Any plans to take track your car? POC (Porsche Owners Club) has an event coming up in a couple of weeks at the Streets of Willow. If you're interested, go to http://www.porscheownersclub.org/ for more info.

At any rate, here's a list of the POC official tech stations. I'm relatively new to California and don't know if any of these shops are near Palm Springs. I didn't include the shops that I know aren't near you.

Welcome and congrats on the new car! Carnewal has both the thicker and aluminum version steering wheel. There does not however appear to be a combination of both:

Thicker Wheel:

Enjoy your car...
