Thanks for taking the lead with this idea, oreganet. These tours have been most enjoyable for me when the roads are rural (with horse farms where possible!). Stately houses are always pleasant scenery, as are forested stretches of road. Ending the trip at a restaurant for lunch would be nice, too, OR starting it at a restaurant for breakfast and some comaraderie.

The date of April 15th works for me, and as for distance, I'd suggest 50 to 60 miles or so.

Everyone is welcome. In fact I realized while I was at the gym this morning that I should cross-post in some of the other forums, to see if the Porsches are interested in hanging out with us 996 guys... if we're lucky the 993 guys might even want to join us.

NNJR is at Lime Rock on the 13th and 14th, which might cut into your attendance?

Yeah, I know, with the combination of NNJR, Schattenbaum, RTR and Central PA PCA, April is a busy month. The weekend of the 28th is the Hershey Swap meet (and typically rains that weekend) and that's a pretty big event also.

I figured that it would be nice just to get whoever we can and go and blow off the cobwebs. Unfortunately it looks like there's no ideal date until late in the year (when I'll arrange another drive before the cars go away for the winter).

I figure that if we can get 10-20 cars (or more!), then it's worthwhile.

BTW, there's no reason why those that are interested cannot also caravan to Hershey.

Where are you planning to meet? I live in MD now but grew up in Philly... I went to Lower Merion HS and Villanova Univ... It would be nice to get back up there for a weekend...

Please post to the 993 & 964 Forums is possible or put on the event calender...

Thanks...

I have now posted on both forums. Thanks for the suggestion.

As for a meeting place, I'm thinking of three places, depending upon turnout and the final route.

1) Wegman's in Allentown (close to the intersection of 476, 78 and 80)
2) Lambertville, NJ
3) Ottsville, PA

I'm open to other suggestions. I guess the only criteria I can think of would be accessibility for those coming from outside the area and a decent sized parking lot.

What time are you looking to start? Could we choose a location where coffee might be available?

Absolutely - at the very least we will need a place where food is available.

As for start time, I'm open. If we do a sitdown breakfast (might be hard with a large turnout), then earlier might be better. I figure that a coffee and pastries social might be good for large numbers. We could start in the ballpark of 8.30 to 9am and that would give time to those who are outside the area to show up.
