I'm going to be selling this 1999 996 that I got for my wife.

It's got 32500 miles, no real maintenance records, no mechanical problems, outside is pretty clean, and the inside needs very little tlc.

There's a dent in the rear bumper on the driver side and the whole soft top needs to be replaced.

Just looking to see how close to KBB values I can get.

Hamilton, he's only asking what it's worth not posting a sale so he should be ok.

White3fidy, your car has some very desirable options but the dent and soft top are going to hurt you.

I'd guess it's worth in the high $20's unless you get it fixed.

Agreed, you should get the dent in the rear bumper cover fixed. That alone could push away potential buyers if it is left "as is."

oh yea you pretty much have to fix that to get any serious buyers else they'll ask for serious discounts so the fix price will cost less than the take a hit on asking price price

The exterior is a light green metallic color and the interior is a full leather green or teal/cream color.
Yes I did do the KBB research, but on some vehicles what KBB thinks doesn't hold water. Plus people who are interested in porsches may or may not think a dent or soft top to be a big deal.
That is why I'm asking you guys who know way more about this than me. I was referred here by a friend who is a regular.
I would be happy with 30k, but high 20's would interest me also.

I can't imagine anywhere CLOSE to the 30K mark with:
NO RECORDS,
DAMAGE,
NEED NEW TOP,
TIP,
NON-DESIRABLE COLOR.

Fix the bumper or have it replaced, no one is going to buy it with a dented bumper. The $1000-1500 you put into the bumper will probably make double that back on price of the car.

Fix the bumper and put an aftermarket top with the glass rear window on it. As you're in CA, I think there's a buyer for the unusual color. Honestly a tip in urban areas like LA is not a disadvantage. Not everyone plans to do DE events with a 996 Cab. It's a nice optioned (Navi, Hardtop, Sport Design wheels, Full Leather), low millage car so with the 2 items fixed, I'd expect to find a private buyer for about $33K. However, with the "special" color it'll probably take you up to 2 months to sell it.

The color will hurt. I agree with everyone to get the bumper fixed, it reflects on the condition of the whole car. If the paint is not cracked they maybe able to just heat it up and push the dent out w/o repaint. All said and done your in the 20's, the odd color, the tip, the age of the car and the roof condition all factoring against you.
