Default Best Porsche Book??

I know this is probally the wrong forum to post this on and someone will probally bitch about it, but i figured who better to ask then the fellow 996 guys. Alright, the deal is fathers day is coming up and i was wanting to get my dad a book on the history of Porsche. So my question is what is the definitive Porsche history book? I'm looking for something that details the later years also and doesn't only focus on early models. Thanx in advance

P.S. He drives a 1992 964 if that helps

There are so many Porsche books that it's tough to recommend just one. I enjoyed the book Porsche 911 - Perfection by Design.

Here's a list for you to choose from:

2nd Porsche 911 Story, The entire Development History" by Paul Frére

Make sure you get the 8th addition. It includes 996 and 997 info.

If you want to go big, then get 'Excellence was Expected'. It contains so much info, you're covered for the next 3 father's days.

Also highly recommend this book. More of a history, information and tech book as opposed to a pic book.
