Default Well guys, I have to post in another forum now...

because I sold the 996 and bought a '87 turbo from a friend who is a fellow RL'er. It is a Protomotive built Carrera 3.2, makes 447 hp @ the wheels, so about 495hp crank. It is scary fast only being 2700 lbs, tires do not have a chance, muhaha. Boost is set at 1 bar (15lbs.).

-Carillo rods
-7:1 compression
-S/C cams
-Tial 46mm wastegate
-55lb injectors
-964 bumpers
-993 turbo tail
-3.6 turbo wheels with 285's
-Strut tower brace
-993TT brakes
-Bilstein PSS9's
-SS 4" inch inlet 12" long single muffler, sounds just like a literbike (sportbike), beautiful sound!

One observation that has always been a misconception with me is the older ones being built better, not entirely true. Some things are built better than a 996 but its vise versa. I have had plenty of time to look in a lot of places to learn the car. Anyways, here are some pics:

Quick observations:

996 - stiffer chassis
- all around better suspension components
- way better carpet
- less understeer
- Fit and finish

C3.2 - Classic door thud sound
- Thicker sheetmetal
- Obnoxious, rowdy car I love
- Bullet-proof 3.2L
- Bullet-proof G50 trans (and yes, it is not a Tiptronic!!!)

Overall I think the 996 is a great evolution on the 911 now really getting to now both cars inside and out.

Oh yes, no power steering and little sound deadening, very rowdy, obnoxious car, especially under boost!
