Why dont many DD their Porsche?
In my search for the perfect Pcar I have come to realize that hardly a handful drive their 966 more then an average of 7k miles a year. While 7k miles isn't a garage queen its still a bit less then half of the average miles people put on a year.
I will be daily driving my car when I get it, rain snow and shine. And in Edmonton of all places. I think I might end up with the only Porsche ever driven in the winter in Edmonton, lol.
I will drive my Cherokee to work though, I'm an Electrician, and the job site isn't a place for a nice car, it would always be dusty, get muddy from my shoes, not to mention any crud on my pants when I get in. But I am only 3 miles from the site.
I figure the car will see ~12k miles a year from me.
I am a bit worried that the cars just aren't built to be driven this much or something, although the general consensus is that the cars that are driven more have less problems.
I don't worry too much about dings and rock chips, I do what I can to a reasonable level to prevent this, but at the end of the day its just a car, and I paid to drive it, so thats what I am going to do. Besides I have insurance for anything big.

believe me....drive ur car whenever u want and don't worry about it...these cars are built like brick ****houses.
people who winter drive their cars in places like switzerland see 200,000kms + easily.

I had a daily driven 99 C4 Cab....just sold it with 145k miles on it....It was in AMAZING shape....these cars are very sturdy and hold up very well to being driven daily. The main reason people dont is that it costs more to do just about everything...like oil, and servicing...so cost per mile is more than say a Lexus....which is dirt cheap compared to a P car...Also the 996 is the first really inexpensive Porsche to own (other than a Boxster). So most people are looking at 993s and older and those upkeep costs are FAR more than the newer 996 and 997 cars. Get a good car, and drive it like you stole it!

I drive every day (well, every day I drive...). I'm trying to say that my car is my primary driver - rain, snow or shine. The C4 handles everything beautifully, it loves the use and has aged very well (it is in great shape for 130k miles).
I just can recommend using a p-car as a daily driver strong enough!

my 03 996 TT has 65K. Some people do drive their cars instead of watching them lose value while sitting in the garage.

Mine's not a DD (daily driver) because I don't DD (drive daily). I'm fortunate enough to not have to rely on a car for daily life.
That means I enjoy driving the car all the more when I do drive it.
