to aero or not?

I vote for "no aero kit", including losing the taco wing.

The floaty feeling may also be worn out suspension. It all depends if you want your car to look like 90% of all 996s out there. I wanted something unique and will help resale. As our pcars get older, given the sheer number of them around compared to other generations, they start to look plain.

If you are thinking of resale you should definately not go aero. You won't even get 1/2 of your cost back. Most people who buy these either don't want the aero package or don't have any idea what aero means. I bet 10% of buyers would pay a premium for mods, and that may go lower depending on meeting tastes especially for the exterior mods.

thanks to everyone for the feedback.
i'm not really planning for resale. my plan is to drive the car until it is, basically, undriveable without tremendous heroic effort. but given that, i like both the clean look and the aero look.
so my thinking is that given the cost to complete the aero look and michigan winters, i've decided to buy a stock decklid and sell my taco wing.
thanks to mfletch for offering his stock decklid for sale. i'll be getting back to you soon.
