Somewhere on a Prius forum they may be talking about 0-60 times, PSS9 installs and the rare Prius Aerokit.

Get these numbers.....can a supercharger help on gas?

On the pedal, no way! With my foot in it, it gets about 10-11. But here is the kicker. With my TPC charger, If I stay out of it and get up on the highway for a trip, I cruise at about 75-78 and get about 29-30 to the gallon if I really watch the pedal and stay out of the rpm's. I can only assume that the added efficiency has something to do with the SC and although it makes no sense for me, it has been great this summer for a number of roads trips. The info was not off the trip comp or the GPS, it is a straight division of mileage vs. gas purchased and then calculated. MPG still sucks in the city with the SC though. I tend to no bitch and moan about gas prices because we are only now getting close to the rest of the world.

A good friend of mine was bitching about gas prices last weekend and I merely expressed my opinion that it was hard to hear him complain with a $7 cup of coffee in his hand. As a matter of principal, I have never walked into a Starbucks and don't plan on it. Maybe all those Starbucks closing can be turned into gas stations.

On a serious note... on long pure highway trips doing between 70 and 80mph I have gotten between 28 and 30 mpg on several trips. It is possible.

Normal hwy trips with me having a little fun on occasion is more like an average of 26mpg

Like everyone else, around town is in the mid to high teens.

You're right - I didn't realize that. The 944 holds about 20 liters extra...

You know every supercharger manufacturer always says you'll get better fuel economy out of the SC, and I never understood it (because i assumed parasitic loss > efficiency from nominal boost), so its good to hear from somebody who can validate (even with a strosek kit and those steamrollers you have on yours!)

+10000000 on the starbucks

Not like me. I probably averaged 16-17 in LA, since I've sent the car back to NY I'm averaging 13.3 per computer all day long. Incidentally that's what I average in everything I own (pretty close). Last long road trip I did about 24mpg on the highway. But I'm carrying around a lead foot.

I'll answer the same way I always do on these threads...

If anyone ever catches me checking the mileage on the 996, someone just come and take it away from me. I could literally be getting 8 mpg and I wouldn't even know it.
