Default The *New* Porsche...

Guess what?! It's white!

Picked up a 1989 Porsche 944 S2 for track duty. Hard to believe the condition of this car when I picked it up today. Would you believe 147,000 miles on her? Exterior looks fantastic and the interior is about the same.

Track prep coming...fast, stay tuned.

Awesome!

I've always been a fan of 944's. I'd love to have an 87 944 turbo - that was one of my dream cars when I was in high school.

Tim - I bought this rig for $7K. I bet you could find one as well. Sell that Honda and go get a 944 / 968.

Great gas mileage and fun to boot!!

Very nice 944. I almost bought one new in the 80’s (the monthly insurance was more than the car note) but I came to my senses. I might look for one for a track toy. Enjoy and GL.

Congrats Chad. That is one of the prettiest 944s I have seen in awhile and for 7k it is even prettier. Good luck turning it into your track car. I am very interested in learning from you. Do you have any idea what it will cost to get it where you want it?

Very very nice 944 indeed! Congratulations!

Note to Tim: Hey, what you're driving there is NOT a piece of ****. In my opinion, it is a great piece of engineering for that kinda money. I know yours is a 4cyl, but Did you know that the 08 Accord V6 2Dr 6Speed does 0-60 in under 6secs, and 1/4mile in about 14.5secs ?? And Accords are rock-solid reliable as well.

Thanks Zoo. I appreciate it. Thanks to all...I have been on the fence about buying an S2 or a BMW E36 M3 for awhile now. After researching in depth the E36, the S2 is the better bang for the buck.

I am sure there will be a few things to repair and replace as I get into it. As far as budget goes, I have an idea...possibly the mid teens when all said and done. However, I plan on doing most of the work myself. I am anxious to get started and make this girl a perfect white on white gutted track beastie.

I am still researching suspension, seats, brakes...etc, etc. More to come. stay tuned on the 944 section.
