New Windshield...Guess where it is made?
So I need a new windshield. Called the shop that does great work. They say they need to order it from the dealer. No problem as I wanted OEM glass anyway. So the guy comes today, does a great job and all looks good. So I look at the DOT marking on the corner of the windshield. Manufacture is SAINT-GOBAIN SEKURIT.....made in the CZECH REPUBLIC. I was not expecting that.

Just count your blessings it's a Porsche and not a Mercedes. If it were a Mercedes, the new glass would say PPG on it (and if it were an older Mercedes after 3 times of getting Sigla glass that had already delaminated, they'd send you a PPG one).

That is where it is made. I'm on my 3rd windshield and this is the sticker for #3.
I did not use the glass sold by Porsche. I had the shop order Sekurit from their supplier. The difference is my glass does not have the Porsche logo, and the price.

I visited only Prague, but found it very progressive. I would not see any issue with a Czech made product simply because its from Czech Republic.
Have any of you been to Prague's airport? It's more modern and spacious then the vast majority of airports in the US.
