Default Wintertime 996 Carrera 2 (manual) drivers?

I became a 996 owner a couple of months ago. My car has never been driven in winter before. Being a new owner, I cannot wait untill the summer. I just placed an order for 18'' Blizzaks (225 front, 265 back). My car has manual transmission, no ESP or PSM.

I live in Finland, our winter is long (6months) with ice and snow.

What do you think, did I waste my money buying the Blizzaks? I will have to wait for a week or so to get the tires.

Blizzaks are good winter tires, I think you'll be fine.
I run my C2 cab in the winter without any problems. I have a set of 17" wheels with Michelin Alpin's and it works just fine.
Enjoy your car.

You will enjoy winter driving very much. I was very aprehensive at first like you are.The blizzaks will be marvelous,I am amazed how they power the car in the snow.
