Default 40th Anniversary - Standard Equipment

Does anyone have a list of items that were standard on the 40th but an option on other 996C2?

I know about the color and 345hp, etc. But how about suspension or anything else?

I see that some 40th's have comfort seats vs. the sport seats? Any reason? I like the look of the painted backs on the sport seats. Just wondering if I am missing anything.

My car doesn't have the sport seats but it has the optional (addl $$$) comfort seats. They are still hard backs but they are not painted. Not sure why. Here's my window sticker with the factory options.

Looks like the only thing you are missing is the navigation system.

According to the order guide the 40th also has"

Sport chassis with more rigidly tuned springs, shock absorbers and stabilizer bars.

I tried to upload the order guide but it exceeds the forum's limits. You can find it over on Renntech or pm me and I'll email it.

I am also surprised that the 40th does not come with NAV as std equipment? I thought it was supposed to come fully loaded with options that came on regular C2. My car is a 2000 but has NAV system as an option...

"Sport chassis" is M030 suspension. Adrian Streather in "996" says the rear springs are slightly longer than normal to accommodate the added mass of the X51 engine package. The main mechanical differences between the 40th and other C2s are the suspension, X51 engine package, and the combination of the limited slip differential and PSM.

in price comparison, how would a c2 with all of the options compare to the 40th anniversary?

the 40th anniversaries should also have a limited slip diffrential (it came on the 1999's and was discontinued henceforth except on the gt3/2...and of course on the 40th anniversary.) The 40th's really got the best of the 996 range.

What are comfort seats anyways? my car has them but they look the same as regular Porsche seats?
Is it the additional power functionality?

I "think" the comfort seats in the 40th are different than the normal ones. They have the different seat material, they have full power, heating, and driver side memory, and they still have the hardbacks, unpainted.

The 40th I was in seemed like normal leather and my car has the full power, memory, heat, crests...etc

so what makes a comfort seat... a comfort seat?

See post #6 of this thread. You are correct. I think the LSD was available as an option on the 996 Carrera, but not combined with PSM; that's what distinguishes the 40th. The lockup proportions are lower than on the GT3/2, but LSD helps give the car decent "track cred."
