Default I drove a 2009 C2S today......

Well, after the Dallas area lunch at H@@ters (hee hee) I was about 4 miles from Boardwalk Porsche in Plano, so I decided to wander over there and check out the new 997.2 cars. They are really sweet looking.

I test drove a Guards Red C2S, and man, it felt good to be in a Porsche again! The PASM is in Sport mode firms up the ride noticeably, but wouldn't be bad unless the roads were rough. The engine revs eagerly and the acceleration is great. The stock exhaust, however, is too quiet.

They had a black Turbo with a Carrera Red Natural Leather interior on the show room floor. I really have to say that the red is a very pleasing color. The various pics that I have seen don't do it justice. I was expecting it to be more of a vivid lipstick red, but it is a more subdued color that has a tint of cranberry in it. It was truly beautiful. I would like to have a Carrara White C2S with a Sea Blue interior. However, after seeing the Carrera Red, if I were ordering a car tomorrow, I would be hard pressed to choose between Sea Blue and Carrara Red. It is that nice!

I know, I know..... I have no business looking at this time, but it was good for me to get away from job hunting. I needed a break from that tedium.

Well, I had my cell phone with me, but not my camera. My cell phone and camera have an arrangement. The phone doesn't take pics and the camera doesn't make calls!

so @ ParkPlace... this is pre-owned?
Here in my town ParkPlace doesnt have new p-cars but does have new Austin Martin and Spykers...We have a P-Car stealer only about 2 miles away though

stick or PDK?
and of coarse... did you "Take it out and see what it could do"?

I had someone at work today tell me if I wanted to drive fast i should move to Germany... I said, what makes you think I want to drive fast?

People have a funny impression of these cars

I am familiar with the ParkPlace you are referring, because I have seen a few used 997's that they have has on Autotrader. The Seattle ParkPlace is not a Porsche dealer. However, I initially typed the wrong dealership name. I went to Boardwalk, a Porsche dealerin Plano. Park Place is a dealer in Dallas. The cars I saw and the one I drove are new cars, not pre-owned.

We didn't take a real long test drive so I didn't get to ride it too hard. It was a stick. I probably could have driven the PDK, but since I wouldn't buy one, I figured there was not much point in driving one.

Could it be that...Tim...is...considering...parting...with...the Accord???

Actually I'd love to drive one with PDK, that might be enough for me to visit one of the dealers around here....

No, I am just dreaming! I need to get a real job first. The job of "looking for a job" doesn't pay very well!

That red does look very nice, although I'm not so hot on the white interior accents.
I always love silver 356's with red leather....

385hp from a 3.8L flat 6, gotta love it.

The only piece painted white is the rear center console. I would get a leather center console. I am not sure if I like the white stitching. I would have to see it in person.

Oh I hear that one! The experience was probably motivating, but especially great for sanity...

Bet it felt great to be back in a p-car, mine has been sitting in the garage since Thanksgiving

The White is very nice looking. Not totally sold on the Red interior. I've been wondering what those 997 19" wheels would look like on White; now I know. Daddy like

I plan to get the full insurance back on next week and "disappear' for a while as soon as we have a nice day (which might still be a while...)

I have the Sumitomo HTRZ II on mine, and they seem fine to me, but I do not have enough seat time with other tires to know the difference (they were new when I bought the car).

Yes, those wheels are painted GT Silver and are darker that the other OEM wheels. They are a good contrast against the White without being too dark.

The pics don't really do justice to the interior color. The depth of color and and rich, warm tone of the interior really surprised me. Red has never been one of my favorite colors, so I was surprised that I liked it as much as I did.
