Hey I think we've all had those moments...

Mine happened when I called an electrician to my house because one of our bathrooms had lost power. I checked all the circuit breakers and everything seemed okay. I tried to troubleshoot for quite some time and finally gave up and called for help.

He came in, looked in my garage and found a GFI outlet that had been tripped. Pressed the button and all was fixed. It seems all the bathroom GFI circuits ran through this one outlet.

It took me longer to write the check than it did for him to "fix" the problem. I lost a few man points that day...

Thats nothing - I came home one day when my kids were little and the house "smelled real funny" - outside too... we just had a new gas line run (was oil heat) and I thought... holy crud.. everyone out !!

I called the fire dept to have them come have a look.... they sent them ALL!!! I mean there were 5 fire trucks 2 ambulances and the natural gas company ALL in my culdesack.... Firemen running into the house with oxygen tanks on and axs in hand... me and the wife and kids standing in the yard thing WTF????

WOW - neighbors all sowing up....

a real big production -

20 minutes later, it was determined that my wife had moved the garbage pail out to the porch because one of the recently changed diapers was real foul.....in fact ... it really stunk after sitting in the sun fro a while!!

explain that one to ALL your neighbors

LOL !!! Right before we sold our previous house I got fed up with the downstairs lights not being able to be turned off and on from the top of the stairs for the past six years. Troublshot till the cows came home and could not figure it out. Finally called in the electrician and he took a 1milisecond look at the switch and said "It's your switch..." HUH!?!?! The PO had installed a regular 2-way switch on a 3-Way circuit...took longer to write the check than it did for the electrician to figure it out

That's not so bad. It's not like YOU were willing to turn off the power and trouble shoot switches and wiring, right? That's not as bad as writing a check for a GFI outlet that was tripped!
