Default Clutch kit and installation cost

After driving my 2000 996 C4 pretty aggressively since I bought it a couple of years ago, I am now in need of a new clutch.

Two questions:

1) What kind of expense is this? Is $2K-2.5K (non-dealer) close?
2) What other work (besides the RMS) should I have done while doing this?

Thanks,
apterr

Buy your clutch from Suncoast and have the RMS and IMS fixed only if leaking. If they are dry leave them alone. Also, decide now if you want to stay with the stock flywheel or go light weight.

Totally agree with the Suncoast comment (Mark is great) and IMS comment.

What are the pros/cons for a lightweight flywheel?

I was thinking about the Kevlar clutches, which hold better and supposedly even last longer if your break them in properly. Thoughts?

I would stick with stock unless you track the car on a regular basis - I agree with the RMS and IMS seal comments.

how many miles?

I have said it before, if I go in there I am putting in a new IMS bearing from Jake - no question about it....

Just passed 90,000 miles. Have tracked it once and would like to do so again but not really interested in a lightweight flywheel just to remove weight. Are there any other benefits of installing a lightweight flywheel? Also, I am not familiar with IMS bearing. If not too pricey it sounds like the right thing to do.
Thanks....

Agree with this except buy clutch kit and buy it from Sunset Porsche as they have the same OEM parts cheaper.

$545.00 for this complete OEM Clutch Kit. I'll include shipping here in the states as well. This is without the LWFW.

Sure - Kit number 996 116 911 00

Part numbers:
1.996 116 027 02
2.996 116 013 06
3.996 116 080 03

Anyone need this kit today I'll knock another $10 dollars off and still pick up shipping. If you'd like to add a LWFW I can take care of that as well. I surely run the risk of having 13 other vendors offer the kit for 1 dollar less then my price by posting it up but I figured I'd save everyone the hassle of sending 13 pm's back and forth lol...

Let me know if I can help.

Just curious - is the LWFW you mentioned a Porsche part or aftermarket?
