Default I'm Going in ALONE....LNE Retrofit bearing

I have the car up and stands. As i have time I will have at it....

For you other shade tree hobbiests, I will document as much as can. I will video the bearing extraction as requested by another weekend worrior.

I have looked at it, looked at the wsm, Talked to Jake (thanks jake). read everything I can find on-line. I feel I have a very good understanding of what has to happen...

In we go!

Bah, the man had a 928... I bet he can do that blind-folded with 1 arm tied behind his back.

This really isn't that hard at all.. Some common sense, wrench time and the ability to follow instructions are all thats required.

Thank you. I am not sure I will get that far this weekend. It looks like I am going to get to start tonight. My plans are to get to the point where I am ready to pull the trans to engine bolts. If that is the case, I may be pulling the bearing tomorrow or sunday. I have to visit Harbor Freight tomorrow and pick up a trans lift. Then lowes and pick up the dowl rod we talked about last night. I picked up a universal Clutch Alignment tool today. Will that be OK?

I'd really consider getting all 4 corners of that car into the air.. Pulling the tranny at that angle is going to be a bitch, stabbing it back in will be more of a bitch..

And when the IMS bearing comes out of the tube you'll get drenched with nasty oil thats been trapped in the tube for years.
