From what he tells me, he owes more than I am willing to pay
I offered 17k, but from what I am hearing 15k is more in line.
I really want a Cayman so its probably a better option for me to hold on
to my 951 a couple more years till the price of used Cayman's come down.
And thanks for the help, Its greatly appreciated

Why can't he drop the price? Not sure I understand that. Regardless, if you are interested, I would look over the car in person and if it's anywhere close to what you are wanting, then make an offer (probably worth 15-17 anyway so 20K ain't gonna happen) and make it contingent on a full and clean PPI. Then have a FULL PPI done yourself, not him. There are a few places locally that can do the PPI properly.....and the Porsche dealer in CH in not one of them.
Nice color. Odd that I haven't seen that car around in all the years I have been active in the PCA in this area.
There are MANY of us local to this car that can help if you needed ANYTHING!

Hi...,
When i talked to this seller i made exactly the same offer and he refused for the same reason.
I think he is not really interested to sell and he is just looking around.
The last offer i made if i remember well was at near $18,000.00...and he refused.

That's insane! How in the world does somebody owe 20K on a 12 year old car with 100K miles?!?!?!
That guy is one major repair away from a paperweight.

I woudl think it is going to need the pads and if it has not had a clutch in the last 50K miles one of those too. If I may tell you my story.. I love to tell it.
I got bitten by the 996 bug about 3-4 years ago.. At that time, I couldnt touch one for under 30K. Once in a while you woudl see one at 29,999.00.. Then as the miles on the cars climbed and the warranties ran out.. I saw prices start to drop and man I mean DROP... by 1/2 or MORE. I ended up doing some research and found IMO that the IMS issue was killing the car. So still wanting a 996+ and I ALWAYS get what I want.... I dug deeper and deeper. I found the IMS was certianly something to worry about. But then I did find an un-time-tested fix.... So I bought the car... Then in the mean time trying to find someone to do the upgrade I learnd about the RMS issue and the pad issue....
So I then found a well cared for 99 aero in UT. The car was really taken care of till 95,000 Miles.. Then the car chaged owners and no more documents.. I thought well.. What could have possibly happened in 8000 more miles... So I bought the car.. The car is NICE with 103,000 miles...
But it took: ALL DONE DIY
Brakes all the way around with rotors $1000.00
IMS upgrade with clutch $1100.00
Horns $50
Tires - $1000.00
Oil Change $100, (yeah DIY 100.00)
RMS $15
Rear shocks (someone gave me them) but if I woudl have had to buy them $500.00
and this to a car that was really taken care of.
I didnt do the pads but think I may this winter.
