Question for cabrio owners
Hey,
Just a quick question for the cabrio owners on the board. Do your buddies give you a hard time for owning a cabrio? Everytime I mention wanting to get a cabrio instead of a coupe, my buddies ALL start making fun of me, calling it a womans car, etc etc. What's the deal with that anyways?

nothing like taking the cab to the track, passing you buddies in their coupes, and dropping the top and cruising home... Helps that mine is a C4 though!
My wife does like to drive it on occasion as well though, so guess it is the best of both worlds!

What do your friends who are giving you are hard time driving?
I also agree with Nick - the cab is a chick magnet. My cab and I get routinely eyed arriving or leaving the gym, office, restaurants, etc.

Ok breakdown , I just read some of your other posts and you've gone from looking at boxters to aircooled to 997 and now here, always concerned about the cab. It clearly bothers you enough to ponder it for so long and so often - maybe a cab is not for you....
Stop worrying so much about what other people think of you. Otherwise if you get a cab and you get one comment that affects you, you will hate yourself for it

No matter what I look at, I keep coming back to the cab. I think that tells me I should get one. I rode motorcycles for years and recently sold my Ducati due to a pretty bad crash. I'm hoping the cab replaces some of that feeling.

Since my friends are mostly driving minivans and honda sedans, they all think the cab is cool stuff. I think the "cab is a car for chicks" mentality only exists in the sportscar-track-racing crowd. The general population just thinks it's a cool car. Just my opinion.
In the end, you are the one driving (and paying for) the car, so it's only your opinion that matters.
For me, I was looking for a cab before I even decided on a Porsche, so it was a no-brainer.
