The dyno info on the IPD website shows low RPM torque gains. I've been skeptical but they do offer a 30 day money back guarantee...tempting.

Agreed, with a money back guarantee you cant go wrong. We were sceptical and dyno'd a car before bringing on the IPD line. As always with Speedmerchants we race and use what we sell.

I am surprised why don't they polish the inside ? wouldn't that be better for air flow ?

I have one of these. I don't pay much attention to the numbers, but I will say that the difference was perceptible (which is all that really matters). Seat of the pants, the before vs. after was more noticeable than, for example, my Revo flash was.

I went to your website and could not find the one for my 996 3.4L? Is this a DIY?

Smoother isn't always better when it comes to making power. A little bit of disruption in the airflow promotes better mixing of the air and fuel in the cylinder.

For years the thought was to increase flow you had to polish the surface... When actual analysis proved a small amount of roughness did increase the fuel/air mixture.... The true porting job will remove the "AS CAST" surface and open up the ports improve flow by eliminating obstructions while maintaining a certain level of turbulence (fine balance here as too much will hinder flow as well).

We started doing this on motorcycles over 30 yrs ago (my father has a natural talent at the balance between smooth & rough)

John, a bit OT but what octane rating was the fuel you were you using for those dyno runs?

Maybe 5-60 to eliminate the traction issue, but I would like to see some street/track numbers if anyone had them.

Not really. A golf ball's engineering problem is ballistic.
