Default how to lower the engine

hi guys, i am working on replacing my leaking reservoir, but it got stuck

can anyone show me a picture on how to lower the engine so it would be easier to take it out.

my car is 2001, so it's the "long" style tank.

Look at post #1 in this thread. That is a safe place to put the jack to lower the engine.

https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...p-a-p-car.html

Put a wood piece or hockey puck on the jack, put the jack under the engine lug, take the weight off the engine mounts.

The two rear engine mounts live at the rear corners of the engine bay. Go underneath with a "19"? MM deep socket and take the nuts (two, one for each mount) off the engine mount studs.
Lower the engine a couple inches.

Depending on how tall your jack is, you are probably going to have to raise the rear of the car a foot in order to get room to do this.

I didn't lower my engine, but did have to wrestle with my coolant tank to remove and reinstall it. Patience grasshopper. A few skinned knuckles, lots of 4 letter words, and several attempts later...success. GL I feel your pain.
