I drive a Cayenne S daily, 996 goes away after first snow. Many drive them year round.
I drove a 951 through 8 winters.

We don't get snow in Houston, but if we are expecting really bad storms I drive the truck.

I drove my C4S all winter - was better than any SUV I've ever driven. I thought that ground clearance might be an issue in a really heavy snow, but it was never a problem for me.

I have a 996TT, but drive a Subaru Outback in the winter. My mechanic is leery about the corrosion on the ancillary components of the car, my kids are scared about my fighting for space on the tollway with the plows. I had a 996 Targa that I wrecked last winter after I tangled with a semi. There's a thread on this forum someplace with all the details.

So, yes, I will park my TT and drive the Subi all winter long. All the time anxiously awaiting the spring thaw and that first heavy rain to wash the salt away.

My 996 is a weekend car, I drive the F350 daily for work I also plow some driveways and parking lots in the winter. I plan on driving the 996 on weekends during the winter when the roads weather permits(not snowing)

I've driven my C4S with proper winter tires for the last 3 winters. I'm currently shopping for a winter vehicle. We get so much snow here, it's sometimes a problem.

2WD, just doesn't cut it around these parts in the winter. We get quite a bit of snow around here. End of November she gets tucked away, garages, covered, trickle charger and the Tacoma, 4WD is the DD.

I drive year round with occasional ski trips up north.
Car has exceptional traction/handling with dedicated snow tires/rims.

Drive it year round. Turns out that the 996, with proper winter tires, is an excellent car in the snow. I actually feel safer driving it than any of my other cars. And, winter tires aren't just for the snow I learned. The first winter I didn't think I'd ever drive it in the snow so I kept my summer tires on. Perfectly dry road but temp around 35 degrees and when I tried to stop at a stop sign it was like I was driving on hockey pucks, winter tires and wheels went on the very next week.

I drove my 996 all of last winter, but that was an anomaly.

During the week, I split my time between the 996 and the M3. The M3 then becomes the winter car.
