Default Tinted my 996 Tail Lights Red Last Week

Well as the title says, I tinted my tail lights full red.
I was going for that all-red 997 look. I'm pretty happy with the outcome. I rubbed some acetone to make sure it's reversible, and it sure is. I'll leave it on for some time and make my decision.

What does everyone think?
Can anyone recommend a good clear-coat spray that I can use to achieve that glossy look?

Thanks!

I like the OEM look way better! I find that smoked clear light they use for the upper part looks fantastic. I would've went the LED route if I was you!!

I would of removed the lights before painting.. and maybe try to buff them a bit.. they look a little hazy.

Thanks.
Luckily, it can all be removed so I'm not worried.

The LED's on eBay look OK. I really want the 997.2 LED look, but have had a hard time find them.

1200-2400 grit wet sandpaper, then polishing compound

Liked the original lights much more.

There is a good chance the acetone will dull the lenses if you try to remove all that. Just be aware. Acetone disolves plastic.

If you like the look, I would try to polish them up a bit and go with it.

I think they look good as well but if I had to be critical, I'd say it needs to have a brighter finish, as it looks dull in the picture.

I like em, but the dull finish on the taillights makes the paint look outstanding! Keep up the good work

If you could get them polished and shiny it would look better

Nice job but it needs 3-4 coats of glossy clear coat (DupliColor should do the trick). Let thoroughly dry, them finish with a fine grade polish.
