Very nice car. Does 996 even compare? Are the bottom points of the wheel crests pointed at the tire valves?

Looks great. Mine is white ,but would like to have it shine like that. Afraid to use anything.

No reason to be afraid. If you want to keep it simple.... wash, clay bar, sealent (or wax, if you prefer).
