Default Amber Light Dilemma: Rear view Mirror with Top down

I am sure that just like me, many of you lose sleep over the littlest things when it comes to our dream machines so here's my latest.....

There is a small amber light under the rear view mirror, call it mood lighting, that is on when the car is on and off when the car is off or at least i thought so until yesterday.

When i turn the car off and lock it, with the convertible top up, the light goes off and all is okay however......

When i turn the car off and lock it, with the convertible top down, the light stays on and never turns off. The car is performing beautifully, there are no error codes or problems or any sort whatsoever, except for this of course.

Any ideas? Does anyone else experience the same thing?

Mine works the same way but the light goes out eventually. It may take several hours. it will not drain the battery since the light is an led and draws minimal current.

Haven't noticed it, but it's an LED so minimal current drain anyway, I also noticed the interior lights stay on for quite some time if you don't lock the doors, as well the under-hood and under-trunk lights will eventually go off if you had them open but it will be quite some time before they turn off.

Those are orientation lights so in the event of an accident you know which way is up and where the door is.

I think it also doubles as a bug zapper light designed to draw the bugs to the center of the windshield away from the drivers side.
