Default Guy knows how to write an ad!

This is a great ad for a beautiful C4S - I get the feeling he might be in the ad business? Just guessing - some of his statements seem a little extreme.

The writer certainly has a flair for composing a riveting car ad.

At least we can all rest now knowing that we have the most reliable engine in the world, and brake pads that last forever.

The ad is too long, and therefore easy for the reader to lose interest.

"and all the same engine/suspension/steering/all wheel drive/body/feel of the Turbo" - Obviously not the same engine

"The brake pads last nearly the life of the car."- I hope my car lasts longer than that!

"Automobile Magazine said the 996 engine is bulletproof and more reliable than any car's engine in the world" - I wonder which engine they were talking about and what they were basing this on...

I got bored with the chopped up sentences and started listening to Pink Floyd as a means to recover from the experience

That's the whole point of this thread - it was tongue in cheek - I was mocking how this guy seems to have made up a series of facts and "citations" to suit his ad!

I liked it Makes me want to go drive mine....I feel like I read a magazine atricle.

But "Faster engine" is not part of the C4S package last time I checked. It's actually slower becaus the car is heavier. Plus many of the things he quotes as "options" are actually standard on the 4S

Creative advertising today is to make things appear as they are not.

This guy did a good job.

still shaking my head..."The driving feel is like no other" the 4x4 truckiness handling without the Turbos power to make it come together

"The engine sounds and handling are inspiring" inspiring you to have it flatbedded to the dealer? And the handling inspiring you to sell it and get the Turbo so you will have power to match the heavy chassis?

"The high performance all wheel drive (60/40)" actually 95/5 starting out to a max of 70/30 @150mph

"The clutch is one of the smoothest " he means it lacks feel and is nearly impossible to actually determin the friction point

I really liked the carbon shift ****. It had a crack in it that you couldn't see but it was entertaining and like a toy for my fingers to massage while quickly going thru the gears in the canyons.

There's more...you can pick it out.

appoligies to C4S owners, these are my own opinions based on owning a C2 996 for 7 years, a Turbo 996 for 6 months and still having a Boxster bought in '02.
