Default Carbon Fiber Content

Thought i would share some pictures of my CF trim with you guys. Recently got it back from my CF guy. Here are the shots

Parts I had wrapped in CF
  • Horseshoe
  • Cluster Surround
  • Door Handles
  • Map Pocket Covers
  • Hazard Surround
  • Dash 3 Piece Trim Set
  • Ignition Surround
Parts I still have on order
  • Defroster Panels
  • Center Console
  • Euro GT3 Belt Hoops
  • Fuse Panel Cover
  • Air Vents
  • Door Sills
My Review of the Carbon Fiber Parts

Quality
  • 20oz
  • 2x2 Twill Fabric

I was really impressed with the quality of the trim i received. Going over all of the parts carefully i could not find any bubbles or pitting in the clear coat. No bumps or defects in the fabric laid on the parts. You can really see the craftsmanship in these pieces of trim and know that the highest quality of materials were used to produce the final product. The trim looks exceptional installed in the car and really transforms the interior into a more modern look and feel.

I am pretty familiar with the OEM Porsche CF trim as i have been in several cars with it installed. Comparing the two you can easily notice a quality difference right away. This 2x2 twill fabric uses many more individual strands of Caron fiber in the weave, which will produce a thicker and tighter weave. The aftermarket CF just really seems to stand out and pop where the OEM variant takes a more subtle approach. If you want a CF set that is going to stand out and get a lot of attention then look no further.

Fitment

My biggest concern with getting the trim wrapped in CF was the fitment upon installation. By getting your parts wrapped in carbon fiber you are essentially thickening the part, making it a bit more bulky vs the stock pieces. I was a little nervous that the pieces would not fit exactly like they did before causing issues with installation. Obviously this is a big concern for many people as i am sure you would not was a nice CF piece that does not fit properly. Once i got the parts back from the CF shop I was extremely happy that everything fit just as it did before. No gaps, awkward fitment issues, or problems with installation with the slightly bigger CF pieces. It was as if i was just re-installing an original part. The pictures above speak for themselves.

Customer Service

I have nothing but positive things to say about the company who took on this project for me. This transaction was one of the most pleasant ones that i have engaged in during my time in the automotive community. The extremely professional staff kept me updated and in the loop through the entire process. They were very helpful and happy to answer all of my questions and concerns before, during, and after the process. I was given a tracking number as soon as the parts were shipped out. Parts were extremely well packaged and contained within the box with no chance of being damaged. These guys are top notch and highly recommended.

Conclusion

For the price and quality you are not going to beat this set compared to OEM and other aftermarket variants. The price is extremely reasonable and an extremely good value for what you actually get with the final product. On top of that this company was a real pleasure to deal with making this whole project worth it over and over again. If you are looking to spice up your interior with a quality set of CF trim then i would look no further. Nothing but good things to say on my part

I am not positive with how the advertising rules work over here so if you are interested in getting a set of this trim and want the contact information for the business that did the work please PM me. If i am allowed to post their contact information I will I just don't want to break any of the rules. Hope you guys enjoyed the pictures and write-up

Sure. I should have the console back and installed in a month or two. I am trying to find a core pair of those pieces to send him to have done in CF.

The prices for the stuff will vary depending on what you are looking to get done. You can get a batch of stuff done or a single piece so the price is going to vary. Best bet is to get in touch with the shop and get a quote.

Matt at oCarbon also did the interior of my D2 Audi S8 and I love it - he is a perfectionist and does great work.
