I recently shipped a race car from California to New York. I went through a broker, but the shipper did a great job. Good communication and they took good care of the car. It was $1400 for an "enclosed" carrier. I put enclosed in quotes because it turned out to be more like a standard transporter with curtain sides. Didn't matter to me - this car had no windows - so I was just looking for rain protection. This was also a race car with its share of road rash, so I wasn't too concerned with it.

I know a company like Intercity probably charges more, but they have really nice trailers and a very good reputation for transporting high-end and valuable cars.

I've shipped my vehicle from Los Angeles to Claifornia in $2000 and i think that it is reasonable.

If you are trying to sell you might just lower your asking price $1,500 as finding a buyer would be a lot easier than dealing with the hassle of moving the car and then selling it. Plus you remove the "risk" of what may happen to the car in transit.
