can you explain what modification were required ?
I have seen a similar car down here in Florida in Homestead.

Looks weird but it is always nice to use OEM

The wheels look nice too, are these 18" or 19"? Ruf or Ruf "style"?

EDIT: Just read through your blog and see they are 19", the 997 conversion job is good too, thought about myself also but now I know how much work is involved so will likely just buy a 997 (Turbo? ) later on than go through the conversion effort/expense now.

convertion to 997 would be a great post if further detailled. I assume you have to be a body shop person to attempt it, but if a good DIY was written I think more people would do it. It is a 'fun' project even though it is clearly cheaper to sell your 996 and buy a 997

I have a couple of questions.

1) does the trunk lid fit on the sides? Is it only the length that needs cutting?
2) is the trunk fid fiberglass? It looks like the cuts didn't need body work or paint to finish.

If this is the case, a mod like this seems pretty straightforward. Ive always liked the look of the turbo trunk.

yes it does fit but all side has to be cut. and trunk is fiberglass. you dont need any body work... just need to install lock tap....
