The wheels look nice too, are these 18" or 19"? Ruf or Ruf "style"?
EDIT: Just read through your blog and see they are 19", the 997 conversion job is good too, thought about myself also but now I know how much work is involved so will likely just buy a 997 (Turbo? ) later on than go through the conversion effort/expense now.

convertion to 997 would be a great post if further detailled. I assume you have to be a body shop person to attempt it, but if a good DIY was written I think more people would do it. It is a 'fun' project even though it is clearly cheaper to sell your 996 and buy a 997

I have a couple of questions.
1) does the trunk lid fit on the sides? Is it only the length that needs cutting?
2) is the trunk fid fiberglass? It looks like the cuts didn't need body work or paint to finish.
If this is the case, a mod like this seems pretty straightforward. Ive always liked the look of the turbo trunk.

2yes it is fiberglass. i cut it so clean i didnt have to do too much modification.
and it is not painted yet. or I didnt do any body work to it....
