Howdy. Anyone have experience with Dr. ColorChip Paint kits? Got some road rash (not significant) on the hood and this looked promising as an interim fix before I get the hood repainted down the road. Priorities, priorities.

For $60 its a lot better than a respray - i had a mobile service apply here to my hood and a couple of other areas in san jose (good Groupon type deal) - and was quite pleased with the results ... i'm going to do the bumper cover next ...
Bottom line - it will be big imporvement over roadrash - but maybe not quite as good as full respray from prof. body shop - at 10% of the cost ....

I bought their kit for my wife's old BMW Z3 (Atlanta Blue). It did not work very well for me, but I am willing to concede it may have been my lack of skill with the product. Your results may be better than mine.

I've used it on my midnight blue C4S. It's better than traditional touch-up paint. It definitely covers up some blemishes, but nothing will ever work as well as a full respray.

Excellent to hear, all! Since my car is simple black (L041), hoping the results will keep me content until the full respray. Still trying to find a partner if DFW in crime for some of these projects planned, but no takers yet :-)

Jf - you should check out New Concept Autoworks in E. Plano for your respray. They handle all the bodywork for Lambo of Dallas and are really reasonable price-wise. I had them to work on my last two bimmers and was really happy with the results.

ZMan, thanks for the lead. I'll give them a call to get an estimate.
