Default Lurker Breaks out of shell

Hi everyone, "all you all" for those of you from the south. As a longtime Porsche fanatic and lurker on Rennlist I finally decided to post, introduce myself, and get involved in the discussions.

I'm currently living in Gulfport, MS and have had a longtime love for and relationship with Porsche. My first was a 1966 911 which I bought and rebuilt when I was just 22 years old. I have been in love ever since. I have been a mechanic for many years, and do all my own work on my cars. I even had a small auto repair shop for a few years. I usually restore 1 or 2 pcars a year. Recently I completed and sold a 1987 928s4 fire restoration and a 1987 944 turbo. I am in process on a 1981 911 targa that I’ve owned for many years.

I went into the defense industry and have worked on the Space Shuttle, B-2 Bomber, F-35 Joint Strike Fighter and many other projects over the years. I am currently a senior quality engineer, building Navy ships in Pascagoula, MS.
I look forward to future discussions on 996's, which by the way is the finest, most comfortable, and fastest Porsche I've ever had and by far my favorite. My wife bought it for me last year for my 55 birthday. The best birthday ever!

Someone once told me don't drive faster than you guardian angels can fly, but either I don't listen or my angels fly fast. Love to drive! Happy motoring everyone!

Welcome, impressive resume - changing the oil is about as far as I go. I just put the same wheels on my car and I think they make it look more aggressive.

Greetings friend. I work for the Navy in their aviation parts and repair site in Pa. And my 2000 Carrera is also black/black.

Welcome. Is that the anchor from an Aegis? Where I'm from we don't see many anchors on the submarines. Nice car.

Welcome, shipmate. (career Navy guy here, 24 years and counting). More importantly, thanks for building great ships.
