Default odometer issue

Does anyone know the countermeasure of the following odometer issue?

I noticed this issue after checking my 6GT3 condition by durametric. Then, i sent the logging data to them, but their confirmation result was that the instrument cluster returns the value 999999 for the distance value.
I am removing the cable of battery now because Their advice was the reboot......

Just ship your car to Colorado and I'll try to fix it. I'll need it for about a month.

Thank you for comment.
The other day,
I detached the battery cable. And I connected it again after few hours. But, this trouble was not solved.

If you know good method to reboot, let me know.

Try changing the km to miles then disconnect the battery overnight. From what I am reading, it should return to the correct milage on reconnection.

Disconnecting the battery on this page worked for this guy on a Boxster. Check this link under BEST SOLUTION. http://www.fixya.com/cars/t1814871-r...he_boxster_now

Steps:
1. Drive exactly 1km
2. Sell as brand new to unsuspecting newbie
3. Buy brand new GT3 with profits (and a lot more cash)

Sorry to make light of your situation. I hope you can get it fixed and enjoy your awesome car soon.

I believe you will need to use PIWIS to correct the problem.

I had the same problem. Take positive and negative off of battery and touch them together. That should fix it.

No, I am not. I thought it was a joke too and I touched the 2 cables together and it reset mine. I had tried everything else and researched for weeks trying to find out what to do and that was a last option.

He's talking about positive and negative of battery cables while they are disconnected so there is no power except for what any capacitor might have it in. Touching the cables together would maybe help side step any resistor thats not draining power down that's stored in a capacitor.

Something retaining power has that number in it or the computer is flaky.

Would be nice if Yaesu works on porsches. I buy their ham radios.

Thank you for many comments.

The current situation are the following.

to use PIWIS : Not yet.
changing the km to miles then disconnect the battery overnight : Now tring.
changing the km to miles then disconnect the battery 10sec : Invalidity.
Take positive and negative off of battery and touch them together : Invalidity.
remove the fuse of the instrument about 48hr : Invalidity.
remove the fuse of the instrument about 10sec : Invalidity (Durametric recommend).
remeve the negative battery cable about 72hr : Invalidity.

Is it Porsche quality?
