Personal color opinions on C4S-White vs polar silver
I just sold my polar silver boxster and have been shopping for a guards red or SY c4s for four months. I ahve not found either color so decided to cast a wider net and came up with the following:
Found one with polar on metropol with PSE plus aluminum package and another white on black (no PSE no aluminum). Two questions:
1-Is metropol on polar silver a tough combo to resell in future? Color is a very personal choice and I have not seen either car in person. I remember seeing a white c4s before and thought it was gorgeous.
2-Should PSE play a big role in the decision making? I read that PSE on 997 cars are a huge difference in sound, is it very drastic in 996?
thank you

You can easily and inexpensively simulate the sound of PSE with the FisterD mod, so that shouldn't be a show-stopper. While it won't be exactly the same as PSE, most find it to be a great sound. As for color, buy what you like. Don't settle for something you're not excited about, because you will regret it later. That being said, take a look at each car in person and you might expand your taste.

I LOVE a white C4S. They are pretty unusual. As for PSE, you can easily upgrade the sound with Fister Sport Mufflers and take care of that issue. It's not exactly the same as PSE, but it's a great substitute if your car isn't already equipped with PSE.

These are helpful, thank you both. These are significant investments and should excite everytime I look at it. Polar silver is gorgeous but I am ready for a change. I am going to pass on the polar and concentrate on SY, red and white.

But generally used car buyers are less concerned about color/options that condition and price.
As a car ages its color becomes even less important and its condition along with its care becomes more important.
Shop around and find a good car. Buy it at a good price. Keep the car in good shape, treat it right, enjoy it, and when you are ready to get rid of it all of these will play a larger role in the car's resale than its color.
Besides, you can play up a less common color as 'unique' and special as a selling point.
Sincerely,
Macster.

If you have not done so already, search out the "What Color Is Your 996?" poll that was conducted here on rennlist. White seems to be the most "rare", and I recall Red and Yellow also very unique. If you find a white C4S I would go for it, they are beautiful.

as long as mechanicals are good then choose the color that you like. it should make you want to turn around after you have parked it and are walking away, to look again!
