These are exclusive to Tire Rack. I think I paid north of $1400.00 for the set with Blizzak winter tires for the C4S last season. Same tire size as the C2.
Very happy with the wheels, affordable and they look fine. No so happy with the Blizzaks, they are not N spec and I notice the difference from the N spec Pirelli snow sports on the C2. But the snow sports weren't available when I was purchasing.

It might be due to sidewall construction, but the Blizzaks feel as if the sidewall is about to roll under when cornering agressively, and at higher speeds through a sweeping turn I describe the car as getting squirrely. Driving the C2 with the N spec winters back to back with the C4S on Blizzaks and for me the difference if very noticeable. Same back to back with summer N specs on both cars and the C4S definitely out handles the C2. Just my opinion and most probably tied to my driving style.
Yes - N specs cost - but I believe Porsche specifies them as requirement for a functional reason and not as a marketing ploy. I accepted when I bought these cars that there was a "cost to own" to be considered above the affordable purchase price. It stings, but I drive these cars every day year round.

thanks - i had blizzaks on another, not porsche, car and felt the same way about sidewall flex/rolling under feeling. replaced them with dunlop wintersport m3 and much happier.

I have Conti Extreme Contact DWS all season tires on 18" rims. I don't really like them, as they are pretty squishy feeling, compared to the Bridgestone 970as's on my BMW.

My target date for winter wheel and tire installation was Saturday, October 13th. I didn't quite make it! Winter arrived last night. I guess I know what I'll be doing tomorrow morning...

Hi Guys, I have a set of 17 x 8 replica turbo twist I had for a 944. Any body with experience of running 8" wide wheel all around in winter? I was thinking I might like a little extra over steer in winter.
I have the wheels so its easy to use them.
Any input.

I'm getting really annoyed - can't seem to find ANY winter tires for my car with 18" wheels...I saw the Blizzaks on TR the other day but keep hearing how awful they are - do Dunlop nor Michelin really have NOTHING for our cars?

I'm running Michelin Latitute Alpin winter tires on my Cayenne. I'm surprised that they aren't available for the 996. FWIW, I am currently running Blizzaks on my 996. I have run this set for the last three winters, and I've been pleased with them overall. I'm not sure what I'll buy to replace them...
