Default Show-n-go license plate holder on 996

Couldn't find this discussed much through search...

Has anyone had any experience with the "Show-n-go" front license plate holder (manual or remote-deploying) on an OEM front 996? Made by Altec.

I saw one at P2O this year on a 997, and it looked pretty slick.
My car isn't lowered, so I was thinking about giving this a shot...

Neat, too bad it would never work with my cup splitter. I have rage toe eye mounted plate.

That is pretty cool! Wish I would have seen it at P2O.

Having run without a front plate for several years and then getting a ticket from the Chicago Police while the car was parked on the street and then putting the plate back on to get the ticket dismissed I find this pretty interesting. I have been amused with the thought of being pulled over for no plate and then saying "Officer I think you are mistaken" having deployed the plate!

Recently I lost my front plate when the bracket/mount fell off. I bought a replacement mount but have not gone the the DMV to get the replacement plate. Just waiting to get hassled again, but it took 3-4 years last time.

At a car show or event, plate hidden. On the road, plate deployed.

I have a show and go plate setup on my work bench right now, and will be installing it on my 996 C4S soon... I'll be sure to post something up when I am finished with the install.

There is not enough depth to hide the plate on the 996, unless, possibly with the 3rd rad installed. I also use a tow hook mount, but I hate it. I hate the front plate law. And Virginia tends to be nasty about it if you have a nice car and do it for vanity reasons. If you have a POS truck, thats rusted everywhere and missing a front bumper, they don't say a thing. Go figure.
