All:

I know how to get the door panel off, but how do I get the glass out? My Father-in-law (Fredster) has a 996 & the windows are tinted. Too tinted. We bought some replacements but need advice on how to get the old glass piece out.

I searched here, Pelican & YouTube, to no avail.

Can you help?

Its explained in detail with pics. Bentley manual section 64-5. Window Repairs, window glass, removing and installing. Not sure if its OK to post the page here?

The window glass has two clamps on the window regulator that hold the glass. Loosen the bolts, and it lifts right out...

Also, I'm a little confused as to why you bought full replacement windows. My vehicle was heavily tinted at purchase; I purchased an OTC window film remover kit from Advance Auto, and had both door window films and quarter window films off inside a few hours; instructions here.

Correct. There's not a lot that holds the glass in there and it's pretty easy once you have the door panel off.

house hold ammonia sprayed on the tint will soften glue and allow you to pull it right off.
