Default 996 magazine articles

Is there a website or particular book that would have contemporary magazine articles / comparison tests for the 996?

Also, is there a really good list of specs through the years? All the weights, dimensions, power, gear ratios, etc...

There is one good book that's been recommended here.
Porsche 996 The Essential Companion: Supreme Porsche: Adrian Streather: 9781845840969: Amazon.com: Books Porsche 996 The Essential Companion: Supreme Porsche: Adrian Streather: 9781845840969: Amazon.com: Books

Excellence Magazine does price comparisons on Porsche's on a monthly basis.

If you are a do-it-yourselfer, Streather's book is absolutely required. Even if you let someone else do the work (guilty), it will tell you the advantages/disadvantages of nearly every modification you can think of. In my case, It's saved me $$ by not performing a modification that really wouldn't significantly improve performance, etc.

The book isn't cheap, but it is essential.

As far as magazine articles, the March 2002 Road & Track does a comparison test between a Corvette Z06, an Acura NSX and a 911 Carrera

Thanks! I'll start there.

Might be a silly question but... How hard is it to get a test drive at a P-car dealership?
I'm only 26 and technically not "ready to buy". I've never driven a 911 and need to feel/see what it's like. Would be my 5th Porsche but the first less than 20 years old at the time of purchase.
