Well that is certainly Rennlist groupthink, I simply question whether there is any actual data to support this assumption.
How about this? You can do a lot of TT maintenance vs. the $20K NA M96 engine replacement fix.

That's a very nice looking car!

You definitely made the right choice. I think that they will end up being much more respected as the years pass.

I have been told the service cost of tt is higher then a standard 996, assuming no major problems.

Okay, so I have 18" Gemballa wheels on the new car and would like to get the 19" 3 piece HRE 540Rs I have found with only 2k miles on them.. They are asking 2000$.. showed me a receipt of $7500 with tires, polishing, and clear coat. Is this a good deal?

On a side note.... the exhaust drone from the Gemballa exhaust is not my thing... would someone be willing to trade me + cash for a stock one?

Actually a bit lower than that.. sorry I phrased it wrong in my earlier post. I meant to say that I got the car for a good amount under the 40k we originally agreed upon before looking at the car. He listed it on craigslist for 45k. (I know right, craigslist of all places!) I think if he would have listed on ebay or auto trader it would have sold for his 45k asking price.. He wasn't aware that it needed brake pads soon, and tires are down to 60% tread (michelin ps2). Cosmetically the car is a 9.8/10. It looses .2 points due to 3 tiny stone chips on hood.

The only thing that I am preparing myself to do to the car is the clutch. I will just have to wait until it goes out as there is no true test of clutch lining life. A lot of 911t owners seem to blow the clutch right before 50k miles. We will see... as for now I cant stop smiling every time I drive the car.

Orange side marker lights. See ECSTuning for smoke lenses. $54 for the pair, easier to swap out than a light bulb. Looks much better.
