I think Zanzibar's been smokin' something good.

Anyway, both styles look great.. plain or aero. Porsche-T's setup looks fantastic.

To my eye, the raw, no-aero part cars look closer to the classic 911. Tasteful aero add-ons can make the car look more modern in terms of the overall line. Both are great.

Yes on the MK2. They were options on our cars. You can still buy the kits from Porsche or you can look on ebay for cheaper knock offs.

I really like the look of the 40th Anniversary 996 with the aero bumper and side skirts, and no wing.

I am new to the Porsche game, but I am leaning towards the turbo bumper on the front of my Carrera 4 cabrio with the rest of the body. It flows quite nicely.

aero front bumper and side skirts. Not a fan of the back bumper skirts or the wing.

For me:
  • Cab's with wings just look wrong.
  • Coupe's without wings look naked to me (but that is probably from living with a wing for 13 years).
  • The kit for the MkII cars just doesn't look good to me, but (while subtle) I just don't like the visual changes of the MkII (again probably from looking at a MkI for 13 years).

So for me, the AeroKit ("taco" wing) on a MkI is the only way to go and a MkI 996 is also the only way to go, but it's as personal as your color and wheel choices so YMMV.

For me, the only 996 I'd want a wing on is a GT3 and think a 'naked' C2 coupe looks great.

But then again I also think the 996 4S's are now looking quite dated and dislike the looks of pretty much all 996 cabs.

Guess that's why they make so many different flavors of ice cream... I like a double scoop with toasted coconut and triple chocolate.
