My normal independent on the Westside is charging more than the local dealer for a 60,000 major. Does anyone have any recommendations for an independent in the SF Valley?

Not in the SFV, but I do have a recommendation for an independent I use near the Miracle Mile area of LA. It's called Euro Spec Motoring - located on Pico Blvd. These guys are excellent and their rates are very reasonable. I'll PM you their website.

Yes, I've used Euro Spec for the last two years and have been very satisfied with their work. Jeff worked for Porsche prior to opening the business, and together with Peter, their combined expertise on these cars is outstanding. They're very friendly and take time to walk you through any job they do. I like that they go the extra step - for example, they had one of their guys give me a ride home when I dropped my car off the first time I brought it in, and they also replaced my wipers for free during another visit (didn't even ask them to do it, nor did I know the old blades had worn out). Another great sign is that their garage is super clean!

Jack, most severely overcharge for a 60K service. You do know what services they perform for this, right? Buy the Pelican kit for the plugs, filters, etc. Buy the wipers at Autozone and you just got your 60K service parts much cheaper.

Take an afternoon and do it. Good luck.
