Default Just Hit A Damn Deer!

Was heading home about half an hour ago, one mile from the house, in a construction area and who should jump out from behind some construction cones but a nice big buck! He literally jumped right onto the car so I had no time to stop. It looks like the damage is limited to the hood (which is likely toast) and the driver's side headlamp.

And the deer, of course, who made a sort of, "Mother f@cker, you just HIT me!" noise. Ah, it sucks but it is what it is. Will be calling Allied Insurance in the morning.

Something about this time of year. Hit a mule deer late at night on July 3 of 2009 out on 50 highway outside of Ely NV.

Anyhow, you're ok and the car doesn't read like it suffered too horribly at the hands, errr, hooves of the deer.

Get 'er fixed and hit the road. Uh, figuratively hit the road.

Damage is mostly to the hood. The front driver headlamp needs to be replaced and there's a small dent on the front driver's side wing that will pop out with the paintless dent guys. All in all, I was really lucky it wasn't worse. You take your luck where you can get it.

Damn that sucks...I'm just waiting for that to happen to me living here in the deer capital of the U.S.

Take the car to a reputable shop and it will be as good as new. Remember to take photos to show any prospective future buyers that the damage was only minor.

Good luck with the repair.

Here in Nor Cal where I live, the deer are like rats. I've hit 3 in the last 10 years (not Porsche). They always come out of nowhere and dive into the car.
